Nearly every morning in 2013, we at Change.org in Canada had the privilege of sitting down with a cup of coffee and opening our inboxes to inspiring stories of victory from around the world. It's a pretty great way to start the day.
2013 was the year 150,230 Change.org users mobilized to free Canadian filmmaker John Greyson and emergency room doctor Tarek Loubani from arbitrary detention in Egypt.
It was the year Laxmi, an Indian women who survived a brutal acid attack, convinced the Indian Government, with the help of 29,555 Change.org users, to restrict the sale of acid to stop attacks against women.
It was the year 464,593 people responded in grief and fury to the tragic death of Nova Scotia teen Rehtaeh Parsons by demanding and winning an independent inquiry into the police investigation of her case.
It was the year 479,000 people convinced the Boy Scouts of America to end their ban on openly gay scouts for the first time in the iconic institution's 100 year history.
To give you some inspiration as you start a new year, we thought we'd share this video featuring a few of the most meaningful victories our users made happen in 2013.
